Hearing scheduled for November
The Planning Inspector has announced that a hearing on this planning application with be held (virtually) on 23/24 November.
It has been a long time since the last update and matters have rumbled along a very familiar path. Whilst we have been waiting for the government's Planning Inspector to issue his decision, there have been comings and goings around McCann's attempt to get approval to extend the storage area around their existing factory by using another 6 acres of agricultural land to store pre-cast concrete. At present the council, the Environment Agency, the Drainage Board and the Flood Authority, together with every resident in the proximity of the site, is against the proposal.
However, in a major development, the Planning Inspector has now relented to pressure and decided to allow the main planning application to be subject to a formal hearing. This will allow us to make our points strongly to the Inspector in the hope that he will see sense. Finally, we will get our "day in court".
Our involvement in the hearing will need to be coordinated and managed to be effective and we have experts lined up. We will be writing out soon with more detail.
